Jordan Hawaii 2012! 084“Do not fear what may happen tomorrow. The same loving Father who cares for you today will care for you tomorrow and everyday. Either he will shield you from suffering or He will give you unfailing strength to bear it. Be at peace then and put aside all anxious thoughts and imaginings.” ~St. Francis de Sales

I LOVE this quote!  It has carried me through good times and bad.  I first read this in high school where it was posted on the bulletin board in the Infirmary at the convent where I worked as a nurse’s assistant.  I copied it down and took it with me to college and posted it on my dorm wall.  It followed me into married life, through miscarriage, six births, the death of our daughter, Jennifer, through Gabbie’s diagnosis with Kearns-Sayre Syndrome and a myriad of other sad times.  This quote anchors me.  It makes me stop and BREATHE and realize that I am not in control.  As I repeat the words over and over, it helps me acknowledge that a much greater force is at work in my life~the will of our loving Father and His spirit in my life.  I would never have believed, as an eighteen year old student, how very true this quote is or the ways it would strengthen me.  We all believe there are things we could “never handle.”  I am a believer that with God, we truly are given unfailing strength to bear all things.  I am also a believer that fear of what may happen tomorrow, steals the joy we have today.

May each of you be free from fear, filled with the knowledge of our Father’s love for you.  If you are in the midst of suffering, may you be given unfailing strength.  May your hearts be filled with peace.  May we each work to release anxiety and fear from our lives~seeking in its place the ability to place all our trust in God.
